All proceeds from this event went towards the purchase of backpacks and school supplies for low-income children in Los Angeles and Orange County.
On Saturday, April 29, 2017, we travelled to an all boys orphanage in Tecate, Mexico, about 8 miles from the border. At the orphanage, we celebrated the Day of the Child with 35 boys ages ranging from 5 years old to 17 years old.
We spent the day getting to know the boys, playing games, breaking piñatas, and enjoying a delicious meal (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cake, and soft drinks).
The boys were very excited to open their backpacks filled with school supplies, brand new shoes, shirts, and pants given to them on behalf of their sponsors.
